JD joined Thamesians in 1997 having previously played at Staines RFC. He arrived at a time when Thamesians were struggling to remain a playing entity, so it was fortunate that he was followed by half a dozen other players from Staines.
JD captained the Thamesians seconds and was their Player of the Year 2001/2. Later he had two stints as Chair of the Club, taking the lead on the upgrade of the pavilion, and maintaining the wonderful relationship with Suresnes Rugby Club.
His company J P Dunn Construction Ltd has been a main club sponsor for many years and has employed various Thamesians including his co-director, James Galloway, and current first team assistant coach, Greg Illingworth.
In recent years JD has been involved with a charity called the Udney Park Playing Fields Foundation with the objective of purchasing 12.5 acres of playing fields for community use and providing a permanent home for Thamesians.
